Sri Lanka CAPA has 1 ordinary member - The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka and 1 associate member in Sri Lanka - Association of Accounting Technicians of Sri Lanka. The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka The national professional body incorporated by Act of Parliament in September 1959. The Council took over the duties of the Accountancy Board in September 1960. (The Accountancy Board of Sri Lanka was set up under the Companies Auditors Regulations of 1941 to assist in the establishment of the accountancy profession in Sri Lanka)
Association of Accounting Technicians of Sri Lanka Established in December 1987 on the initiative of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (ICASL) and was set under the Companies Ordinance as a Company Limited by guarantee. Approval was obtained from the Registrar of Companies to delete the word "Limited". The AAT is also set up under an Act of Parliament.
