November 2021 Roundtable: Audits of Less Complex Entities

Published date: October 12, 2021

CAPA is delighted to partner with IFAC, IAASB and South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) in holding a roundtable to promote a greater awareness and understanding of the public consultation on the proposed standard for audits of Less Complex Entities (LCE) and to provide an opportunity for members to provide their views to the consultation. The proposed separate standard for audits of financial statements of LCEs responds to the call to have a set of high-quality requirements tailored to the needs of LCEs and aims to provide a globally consistent approach. The public consultation on this draft new standard is open until 31 January 2022.

It is acknowledged that LCEs make crucial contributions to the world economy and account for the great majority of entities globally. At the same time, increasingly complex structures and transactions need to be addressed in the International Standards on Auditing (ISAs). This complexity in the ISAs can pose challenges for audits of LCEs.

Please forward this roundtable invitation to relevant persons in your organisation. We understand one person per organisation will be invited to actively participate to express views from your jurisdiction, whilst others may observe.
