Published date: July 25, 2016

The International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), a CAPA affiliate member, organised a roundtable on the future of regulation. More than 50 thought leaders comprising of senior executives and experts from regulatory agencies, financial markets, government, academia, listed companies, investment funds, and the accounting profession gathered for this important discussion.

The roundtable called for balanced regulation targeted to specific social outcomes, as well as stronger checks and balances to measure regulation’s effectiveness and ensure it is fit for purpose. This is crucial going forward in order to strengthen the global economy and financial systems of countries around the world.

CAPA commends IFAC and ICAEW on organising this valuable discussion as the profession plays a vital role on helping businesses and governments solve the current financial problems to ensure continued economic growth.
