Published date: November 21, 2018

The International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) has issued the Call for Nominations for the IFAC Board and Committees in 2020. IFAC is seeking exceptional candidates with a strong commitment to the public interest to fill volunteer vacancies on the following:

  • Board
  • Professional Accountancy Organisation (PAO) Development Committee (PAODC)
  • Professional Accountants in Business Committee (PAIBC)
  • Small and Medium Practices Committee (SMPC)
  • Nominating Committee (NC)

Apart from seeking volunteer members, three of the committees are also seeking nominations for the position of Chair – they are the PAODC, PAIBC and SMPC.

All vacancies on the Board and committees are open for nominations by IFAC member organisations. Those interested should review the Call for Nominations document, including detailed information on vacancies, composition targets, specific membership qualifications and requirements. A companion guide is also available to offer strategic guidance in selecting candidates, including identifying the most qualified nominee for each position.

CAPA encourages all PAOs in the region that are IFAC members to consider nominating candidates where suitable positions are available. It is essential for PAOs in Asia to contribute to such Board and committees when opportunities arise to ensure the views from the profession in Asia is presented to the global profession for consideration in an appropriate manner. The IFAC Board and committees also encourage nominations from qualified female candidates to achieve balance in gender diversity.

Nominations can be submitted online via the Nominations Database by 15 February 2019.
